Dale Klohr

Dale Lee Klohr, 89, of Freeburg, IL, born September 24, 1936, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, July 25, 2026, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Dale worked as District Engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation. At age 40, he was appointed to this position, and he worked for IDOT until he retired. He was an Ainad Shriner and he volunteered for many different organizations over the years. Dale was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Karen (Shelton) Etter and Kelly (Larry) Schnieder; a grandson, Matthew Schneider; his parents, William and Amanda, nee Schneider, Klohr; and a nephew, William Klohr.

Surviving are his loving wife, Carol, nee Burdick, Klohr; a grandson, John Reiling; his brother, David (Judith) Klohr; and a nephew, Bob Dale Klohr.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

No funeral services will be held.
