John Aaron Zapfe, 56, of Freeburg, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Aaron was born on March 27, 1970, in Columbus, Indiana. A hardworking and dedicated businessman, he was the proud owner and operator of Elite Transmissions, where he earned a reputation for his honesty, skill, and commitment to his customers.
