Major Case Squad Activated: Teen Killed In Cahokia Heights Shooting

CAHOKIA HEIGHTS – A 16-year-old was shot multiple times and pronounced dead Saturday night, July 25, 2026, in Cahokia Heights, Illinois, prompting the activation of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis, authorities said.

The Cahokia Heights Police Department responded at about 7:57 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, to the 1100 block of Camp Jackson Road for a report of a shooting, according to Alton Police Lt. Andrew Pierson, public information officer for the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis. Investigators determined the victim, identified only as a juvenile, had been shot multiple times and was declared deceased at the scene.

The Cahokia Heights Police Department requested assistance from the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis in the investigation. Sgt. Kyle Bade of the Shiloh Police Department is serving as deputy commander for the activation.
