Three Charged in Ferguson Gas Station Killing

CLAYTON, MO. — Three men have been charged in connection with a June 30, 2026, shooting at a BP gas station at South Florissant and Woodstock roads in Ferguson, MO., that killed a 35-year-old mother of five – Shakeela Martin – and wounded another person, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said.

The office said Marcus Evans, 21, Jontez Young, 19, and Kyren Farmer, 21, each were charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and armed criminal action counts in the shooting.

Authorities said Evans remains jailed on a $2 million cash-only bond. Young is being held on a $2.5 million bond, and Farmer is being held on a $2.5 million bond.

Another person also was shot and hospitalized, according to the prosecuting attorney’s office.

Martin’s family has stated that their mother was getting slushies for her children at the time of the shooting.
