Joan K. Chadderton, nee Groh, 83, of Belleville, IL, born February 5, 1943, in Belleville, IL, died Thursday, August 6, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones.
Joan was a dedicated homemaker. She had a love for baking, dancing, boating, and playing with her great grandsons. She never missed a chance to spend time with her family or friends and was always ready to offer a listening ear, a comforting hug, or endless support.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, James T. Chadderton, whom she married on December 28, 1963; and who died on March 3, 2025; her parents, Lloyd F. Groh and Vera Groh Maurer, nee Deffenbaugh; a brother, Larry Groh; and her sister, Kathleen (David) Hopp.
Surviving are her daughter, Janice K. (William Jr.) Menn of Freeburg, IL; two grandchildren, William III (Kerry) Menn and Julie (Ian) Weber; three great-grandchildren, Frankie Menn, Cooper Menn, and future baby girl Weber; a brother, Bill (Bev) Groh; a sister-in-law, Janet Groh; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Andrew Lovins officiating.
Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
