EDWARDSVILLE – A driver was taken to an area hospital Monday morning, Aug. 24, 2026, after a single-vehicle rollover on New Poag Road at Interstate 255 in Edwardsville, where police said it appeared the driver had fallen asleep before the vehicle left the roadway.
Edwardsville Police and fire crews responded just before 7 a.m. Aug. 24, 2026, and found a Hyundai Elantra on its side, according to the Edwardsville Police Department.
Police said the vehicle appeared to have veered off the roadway and flipped two or three times.
The driver was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment as needed, police said. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
