Evelyn Pearl Madison, 83, of Pontoon Beach, IL, passed away at 9:10 p.m. Fri. Aug. 28, 2026 at her home.
She was born Sept. 16, 1942 in Hanna City, IL to the late Finis Frank and Clemmie Artrude (Berry) Madison.
Pearl retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after more than 30 years and continued to work in a few other places following retirement. She was a member of Central Christian Church and loved to crochet and help organize reunions. Her greatest love was her family and being able to spend time with her many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by 2 brothers, Donald Leroy (Hedy) Madison and Floyd Frank Madison and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Madison. While she didn’t have children of her own, she has a host of nieces and nephews who she was close to and loved like her own. They include nieces: Marsha (Edmond) Wilkinson and Dana (Frank) Roberts; nephews: Jimmy (Shelly) Madison, Todd Madison, Paul “Buddy” (Patti) Boner, Terry (Margaret) Madison, Brian (Cathrin) Madison and Justin (Jamie) Madison; great-nieces: Trisha (Tom) Campbell, Becca Wollet, Jessie Taylor, Kellie Wilkinson and April Wilkinson; great-nephews: Tanner (Kendall) Madison and James (Tori) Madison; great-great-nieces: Sienna Campbell, Marli Wilkinson and Hailey Selliers; great-great-nephews: Sterling Campbell and Sebastian Campbell; as well as many other great-greats and family too numerous to mention.
Pearl was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Loren Lee Madison and James Alvin Madison; and a niece: Robin Alexander.
The family will hold a celebration of Pearl’s life at 4:00 p.m., Fri. Sept. 4, 2026 at Central Christian Church, 2020 Johnson Rd., Granite City.
