Murder Charges Filed After Cahokia Heights Bar Shooting

CAHOKIA HEIGHTS — Authorities filed first-degree murder and weapons charges Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, against Finese E. Spiller, a 34-year-old East St. Louis man, in connection with a shooting early Monday at BB’s Sports Bar & Grill in Cahokia Heights, the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis said.

The shooting occurred at about 12:29 a.m. on Aug. 31, 2026, at the bar, 7301 Lake Drive, authorities said. The case was presented Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office, and charges were filed against Spiller.

Spiller is charged with first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, according to the Major Case Squad. He has not been located and is not in custody.

Authorities said Spiller should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is asked not to approach him and to immediately call 911 or their local law enforcement agency.

A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
