Vehicle Fire Fuels St. Louis Street Takeover Probe

ST. LOUIS — District 1 detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are asking for the public’s help identifying several people and vehicles connected to a street takeover early Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026, at Gravois Avenue and Morgan Ford Road in the city’s Bevo neighborhood, where police said a vehicle was set on fire.

Police said several incidents occurred during the street takeover, including reckless driving, a vehicle fire, medics held at gunpoint and officers injured in a crash. The department said the investigation includes identifying individuals and vehicles involved.

“If you recognize anyone pictured — or have video, photos or other information about the incident — email: d1videorequest@slmpd.org or call a District 1 detective at 314-444-0100,” the department said. Information can also be shared by emailing tips@slmpd.org.

“Accountability is part of Investing in Safety,” the department said. “Your information could help detectives identify those responsible and prevent the next dangerous street takeover.”
