ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Two people have died after a two-vehicle crash early Sunday near Chambers Road and Jacobi Avenue in St. Louis County, police said, with the investigation into the crash remaining active.
The deceased driver of Vehicle 1 was identified on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, as Samuel Lucas, 30, of the 300 block of Averill Avenue in St. Louis. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.
An adult female victim in Vehicle 2 died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, at an area hospital from injuries sustained in the crash, police said. She was identified as Demetria Jeffery, 25, of the 9500 block of Madelaine Manor Walk in Berkeley.
St. Louis County Police Department North County Precinct officers responded at 2:25 a.m. Sunday to the crash near the intersection of Chambers Road and Jacobi Avenue. Officers found two vehicles involved.
The driver and two occupants of Vehicle 2 sustained life-threatening injuries and were taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.
Detectives with the department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction unit are investigating. Police said preliminary details may change and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
