Detective Dragged During Page Avenue Arrest Attempt, Police Say

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO. — A suspect wanted on felony warrants was taken into custody early Tuesday morning, Sept. 15, 2026, in St. Charles County after an officer-involved shooting Monday afternoon, Sept. 14, 2026, in Vinita Park involving Florissant police detectives attempting to make an arrest, St. Louis County Police said.

The St. Louis County Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is investigating the shooting, which occurred about 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, in the 8400 block of Page Avenue.

Police said detectives from the City of Florissant Police Department located the suspect at a gas station and were attempting to arrest the suspect when the suspect resisted and tried to flee in a vehicle. The suspect put the vehicle in reverse and dragged one of the Florissant detectives, police said.

As the suspect drove away, a second Florissant police detective fired one round from a service weapon through the rear window of the vehicle, according to police. The suspect fled eastbound on Page Avenue and abandoned the vehicle about a mile from the scene.

The injured officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries and was treated and released Monday evening, police said.

The officers involved are 41 years old with 18 years of service and 47 years old with 23 total years of service, according to police.

Police said additional details were expected later Tuesday afternoon. The investigation remains active, and preliminary details may change as it progresses.
