LIVINGSTON — A crash involving an RV and a tractor-trailer shut down a part of Interstate 55 near Livingston in Madison County on Sept. 29, 2026, with one occupant being airlifted to a regional hospital, according to Illinois State Police.
Illinois State Police Troop 8 responded to the two-vehicle crash at milepost 35 at approximately 12:57 p.m. Injuries were reported, but no details about their severity or the number of people injured were available.

Traffic was being diverted off the interstate at Exit 33 onto Route 4.
The investigation is in its early stages, and the cause of the crash has not been determined.
State police said no further information was available at this time.
