Donelda “Donna” Hasty, 92, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 4:19 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Liberty Village in Maryville. She was born February 6, 1932, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Herbert and Margaret (Marmion) Cline. She married the love of her life, Jasper D. “Don” Hasty on February 11, 1950, in Granite City and he passed away on April 16, 2021. Donna retired from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville after many years of service as a payroll clerk. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. She loved to cook for large groups and organizing family gatherings. She cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived three sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Barbara Hasty of Maryville, Darrell and Deborah Hasty of Ft. Pierce, Florida and Darrin and Darla Hasty of Edwardsville; nine grandchildren, Valerie, Lisa, Tawnya, Jennifer, Tyler, Blake, Hannah, Karen and Jacob; fourteen great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Sandy Cline of Granite City; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Hasty and a brother, Herbert Cline.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon with Reverend Willard Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
