Mary E. Rouland, 99, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 10:16 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the Westview Assisted Living of Ellisville, Missouri. She was born April 10, 1925, in Lilbourn, Missouri, a daughter of the late Gustavus and Amanda Jewel (Ewing) Tinsley. She married the love of her life, Robert A. Rouland on May 17, 1947, in Granite City and he passed away on August 12, 2020. She retired from the Granite City Army Depot in 1988 after 25 years of dedicated Civil Service. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Niedringhaus United Methodist Church in Granite City for over 50 years where she had been active in the choir and with many committee’s through the years. Mary was also a member of the Juanita Rebekah Lodge #477 where she had served as a Past Noble Grand and the Past President of District #26 from 1954 until 1995. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Lori Rouland of Fenton, Missouri; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jim Provinse of Chesterfield, Missouri; grandchildren and spouses, James and Mary Provinse, Kristin Provinse, Sarah and Jason Bowman and Megan and Marc Wildhaber; granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Provinse; great grandchildren, Katie, Isabel, Anna, John, Natasha, Micah, Taryn, Gunner, Cecilia, Charlotte, Brayden, Madilyn and Wesley; nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Provinse; three brothers, Lawrence Tinsley, Charles Tinsley and Joseph Tinsley and four sisters, Zallah Bell, Anne Haley, Rosa Lee Wagner and Jennie Jacobucci.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Maynard officiating.
