Larry Finn

Larry Gene Finn, 81, fell asleep in Christ on April 8, 2024, surrounded by those who love him and the music he loved. He was the son of Etta (nee Freese) and Guy Whitson and Eugene Finn, brother of Suzanne (Bill) Schaefer and Uncle Toots to his niece and nephews.Larry was very proud of his service in the Army’s 101st Airbourne Division, the Screaming Eagles. Larry was a lifelong resident of Granite City. He was a millwright at U.S. Steel (formerly Granite City Steel) for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2009.Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughters, Michelle Robertson and Dawn Finn.Surviving is his wife, Lola and the children of their blended family, Michael (Margaret) Klein, Marianne (Christopher) Crane, Elizabeth (Mark) Bossi and Christopher Finn.“Hilarious G. Finn” was a much-loved Papa to Andrew (Mandi), Kahle, Christian, Danielle (Chase), Emily (Chad), Bennett (Camryn), Thomas, Ian (Grace), Colin, Kylie and Jameson and great grandchildren, Andrew, Jr., Aidyn, Amira, Apollo, Elijah, Elena, Elliot, Lorelei, Lila and Millie.In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Camp Hope U.S.A. (a retreat for military veterans who served and were wounded in the war on terror), Post Office Box 52, Farmington, MO 63640. Interment will be held privately in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
