David Greg Line, 70, of Granite City and formerly of Collinsville, Illinois passed away at 3:16 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at his home. He was born December 4, 1953, in Granite City, a son of the late Lawrence David and Dorothy Ruth (Martin) Line. He married Tina Rae (Benson) Line on July 11, 2002, in Belleville and she survives. David retired from the Carpenter’s Local #664 after many years of dedicated service as a skilled carpenter. He had a great love of nature and enjoyed taking walks and capturing stunning photographs of God’s creations.
He loved his days of motorcycle riding, enjoyed music and playing the guitar and was an avid gun enthusiast. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by a step-daughter, Catrina Benson and her husband, Britton Bluedorn of California; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Gary Stanek of Granite City and Judy and Charles Bequette of Bismarck, Missouri; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy and John Bishop of Bethalto; nieces and nephews, Faith and Paul Pulaski of Granite City, Gary and Ailene Stanek of Lees Summit, Missouri, Michelle Bequette of Bismarck, Missouri and Charles and Megan Bequette of Bismarck, Missouri; several great nieces and great nephews; his cherished dog, Benny; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024, with Reverend Derrell Brame officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
