Kathleen Tinervia

Kathleen A. (Kathy) Tinervia nee Werner 67, of Granite City, passed peacefully on April 6, 2023, in her home. Born October 15, 1955 in Granite City Il. Daughter of Gerald and Janet (Fecurka) Werner. She married her loving Thomas Tinervia on May 26, 1984. Together they have two sons Adam and Nicolas.

Kathy loved her career as R.N. where she worked for forty years between St. Elizabeth Hospital of Granite City, and Children’s Hospital of St. Louis. Where she meet many people and gained many friends. Upon retirement  February 2019 she became the family nurse caring for all the nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and the the most recently a grand baby, that she was ecstatic about. Kathy spent her past as hockey fan she spent time playing and watching with her sons Adam and Nicholas. Her favorite team was St. Louis Blues. Kathy loved to do crafts. Kathy also loved shopping many places especially Kohls. The spring time was her favorite time of the year where she would get outside plant flowers in her many gardens around her home.  When she felt the need to getaway Carnival Cruise was the escape for some peace.

Survived by loving mother Janet Werner of Madison. Caring husband Thomas of Granite City, son Adam Tinervia (Brittanii Genovese) of Pontoon Beach, Nicolas Tinervia of Granite City. Her brothers Gerald Jr. (Patty) Werner of Catonsville, MD, Keith (Lisa Bevill) Werner of Madison, IL,  Kevin (Cathy) Werner of Harrisburg, IL.  Her sweet granddaughter Stella Tinervia and bother Dom Chon-Genovese both of Pontoon Beach.  Numerous nieces and nephews Scott (Nikki) Werner of Anna, IL, Jeffrey (Ashley Roseman) of Florence, OR, Brian (Erin) Werner of Granite City, IL, Matthew (Tiffany) Werner of Granite City, IL. Many great nieces and nephews Gabrielle Graham, Drew Werner, Tucker Werner Bradley Werner, Olivia Werner, Lizzie Werner, Cam Werner, and Hunter Werner. 

Proceed by Gerald (Jerry) R. Werner, grandparents Pete and Margaret & Pete Fecurka and Charles & Myrtle Werner. Sister-in-law Janet L. Werner.

Memorials may be made to St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, St Mary St Mark Catholic Church.

A visitation will be held 4 pm to 8pm April 12 2023, at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home, Granite City Illinois.

Funeral Mass at 11 am April 13, 2023 at St Mary St Mark Catholic Church, Madison Illinois.

Burial Calvary Catholic Cemetery Edwardsville Illinois.
