Donald K. “Don” Kessler, age 72 of Collinsville, IL, born March 9, 1950, in E. St. Louis, IL, passed away on January 2, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
Don retired from the City of Collinsville after 38+ years of service in the Water Department. He was a lifetime H.O.G. member, and state-licensed water and wastewater operator, and received numerous commendations and service awards from the City of Collinsville. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating, and doing home repairs.
Don was preceded in death by his father, K. Don Kessler; and wife, Constance G. Kessler.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Lee (nee McDaniel) McKenzie of Pontoon Beach, IL; a sister, Sherry (Tony) Antonacci of St. Louis, MO; two step-sons: Andrew Blumberg and Adam Blumberg; two step-grandchildren, David and Jessie Blumberg; two nephews, Anthony and Don Warren; and three grand niece and nephews: Nicole, Sam, and Gianni.
Don’s wishes were to be cremated and a private burial for him and his beloved wife, Connie, will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Heartland Hospice and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
