Jeffrey William Skinner, 62 of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, and formerly of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
Jeff was born on October 11, 1959, in Granite City. He attended grade school in Madison, IL, and graduated from Granite City Sr. High School. Jeff was co-owner of Hamilos Bros. Meat Company in Madison, Illinois for years before moving to Colorado. He recently retired from Union Pacific Railroad, and in his free time enjoyed his days riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, boating, shooting pool, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Jeff loved spending time with his family and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Jeff is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Stacy Skinner of Ft. Gibson, OK; parents, Georgianne (Syniski) and John Obucina of Granite City, IL; children, Jeffrey W. Skinner Jr. (Andrea Burns) of Collinsville, IL, Melissa (Jack) Bench of Edwardsville, IL, Lilly Skinner (Tommy Blackwell) of Bethalto, IL; step-children, Kylie (Ben) Taylor of Bonham, TX, Weldon (Abbey) Wright of Denison, TX; grandchildren, Kailyn, Darryn, Jack, Owen, Tyson, Lliam, Letty, Rylan, Jagger, Mary; great-granddaughter, Mila; brothers, Michael (Bette) Skinner of Glen Carbon, IL, Gregory (Christa) Obucina of Troy, IL; sisters, Susan (Glenn) Jost of Valley Glen, CA, Anne (Neil) Trent of Columbia, MO, Paula (Darrell) Elmore of Troy, IL and numerous nieces, nephews and many other close family members and friends.
In addition to his grandparents, Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Skinner, and his father, William Gene Skinner.
In celebration of Jeff’s life, a memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Memorial donations are suggested to the Granite City A.P.A. or to the American Heart Association.
