Daniel Deppe

Daniel Lee Deppe, age 66 of Collinsville, IL, born October 7, 1955, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at his residence.

Daniel was a 1973 Collinsville High School graduate.  He worked as a power plant engineer at Granite City Steel for over 45 years before retiring.  Daniel was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, traveling, and a good buffet.  He and his wife, Jeannette, traveled by motorcycle to 48 states and Canada.  After retiring, he and Jeannette cruised to Alaska, the Mediterranean, and the Bahamas. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Daniel Deppe; granddaughter, Morgan Leigh Deppe; and parents, Clyde and Angeline (nee DeMoro) Deppe.

Surviving is his loving wife of 46 years, Jeannette (nee Burkett) Deppe, who he married May 17, 1975; two children:  Matthew Deppe of Collinsville, IL and Jenna (Justin) Niebuhr of St. Charles, MO; three grandchildren:  Alexandria Deppe, Leah, and Lora Niebuhr; two sisters:  Kathy (Dan) Cusanelli of Pocahontas, IL and Donna Miller of Florissant, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends and his canine companion, Max.

Memorial visitation will be 3 – 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.   Due to current state restrictions, masks are required to be worn.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2021, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Daniel’s honor to Partners for Pets and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
