Carol A. Gross, age 76 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at her home in Highland, IL.
She was born on Wednesday, April 11, 1945, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Walter and Virginia (nee Husmann) Bargetzi.
On Saturday, August 10, 1963, she married Roger L. Gross at the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL who passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2000.
She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL, and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Born in Highland, IL and graduated from Highland High School in 1963. Roger and Carol’s wedding was the first in the new church building on Poplar Street. She worked at the Marine Garment Factory for 23 years and retired in 1986. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, yearly visits to the Ozarks with her best friend Charleen Downs. She loved working crossword puzzles and Sudoka number placement puzzles, visits to casino boats and time spent with her nieces and nephews.

(Steven Bradley) Gross, Vandalia, IL; Niece – Michelle “Shelly” Noll, Saint Jacob, IL; Niece – Nicole A. ((James) Hill, Saint Jacob, IL; Great Nieces & Nephews – Several.
She was preceded in death by: Father – Walter J. “Wally” Bargetzi – Died 7/27/2000; Mother – Virginia C. Bargetzi (nee Husmann) – 4/12/2009; Husband – Roger L. Gross – Died 8/12/2000; Sister – June D. Noll – Died 3/22/2021.
Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Private Funeral Service will be on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Tim A. Darmour-Paul, Pastor, Grantfork United Church of Christ, Grantfork, IL, officiating.
Interment will be at Keystone Cemetery in Saint Jacob, IL.
