Steve Suddeth

Steve Charles “Scuba Steve” Suddeth, 55, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at his home.

He was born October 7, 1965 in Highland, Illinois, a son of John Marvin and Iris Darlene (Luncsford) Suddeth of Crystal City, Missouri.

He married Rhonda Lynn (McIntosh) Suddeth on April 13, 1999 in Edwardsville and she survives.

He was employed at Granite City Steel with ten years of dedicated service as a steelworker. He was a member of the Steelworker’s Local #1899 and a proud fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Steve enjoyed riding his motorcycle, had a love for music and his days of fishing. He loved the outdoors and was always up for a good bonfire or day of barbecuing. He was always the life of the party, cherished his grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he is survived by four children, Amber and Brian Bauman of South Carolina, Cassandra Polach of Granite City, Cory Suddeth of Granite City and Kameron Suddeth of Granite City; six grandchildren, Logan, Kamden, Madan, Ashten, Anthony and Aaron; four sisters, Sheila and Mark Hicks of Salem, Illinois, Monica and Scott Paolucci of Granite City, Sherri and Bill Paolucci of Sandoval, Illinois and Lisa and Justin Elders of Arnold, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Teresa and Bradley Briggs of Granite City; two brothers-in-law, Robert and Shannon McIntosh of Hazelwood, Missouri and Gene and Tina McIntosh of St. Petersburg, Florida; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Marie Suddeth and Edgar and Harriett Luncsford and a nephew, Jakob McIntosh.

In celebration of his life, a private visitation and funeral service will be held at Irwin Chapel on Friday, February 19, 2021, with Reverend Mike Rayson officiating.

The Suddeth family invites all family and friends to join them at the Granite City Elks Lodge in Granite City at 6:00 p.m. for a time of celebration in his memory.
