B.W. Wallace

B.W. Wallace, 85 of Granite City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 13, 2020 surrounded by his family.

B.W. was born on September 7, 1935 in Dover, TN; the son of the late Bieth C. and Queenie (Birks) Wallace. B.W. was a retired laborer out of local 179 for the City of Edwardsville and of Christian faith. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a life time member of the AmVets Post #51 and a life time member of the Granite City American Legion Post #113.  His greatest joy was the love of his family and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.

B.W. is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Margaret “Peggy” (Browning) Wallace, whom he married on September 3, 1983; daughter, Janet and Joe Vaughn of St. Jacob, IL; son, Kenneth Wallace of Wood River, IL; step-son, Bob Kirksey of Granite City, IL; sisters, Freida Tucker, Ann Warren, Nelda Kingdom; grandchildren; Jason, Justin, Rebecca, Kristina, Angie, Lynnan, Jack; great-grandchildren, Emma, Lyla, Liam, Aaryn.

In addition to his parents, B.W. was preceded in death by his brothers; Gerald, Bobby, Roger, Harry, Leon, Guy and Shelby Wallace; sisters, Helen Shutt, Violet Hayes and Peggy Sommers.

In celebration of B.W.’s life a family visitation will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kenneth Wallace officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow with full military rites at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
