Mary H. “Mo” Sloan, 58 of Granite City passed away at her home in Granite City on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
Mary was born on February 19, 1962 in Granite City; the daughter of the late William and Betty (Moad) McCunney. Mary was a homemaker mom and wife who loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed her days of playing pool and was a well known for the crafts she made. She loved her dogs Buddy and Sissy and her family always called her “Sis”. Mary will be remembered for her loving heart and all the special times she shared with family and friends.
Mary is survived by and will be missed by her husband; Gerald L. Sloan, whom she married on November 19, 1992; her children, Nicci and Rick Pollard of Bethalto, IL, Joe and Danielle Shepard of Arnold, MO, Bekka and Stephen Heigert of Roxana, IL, Jake and Kristen Shepard of Anna, IL; grandchildren, Whitney, Emma, Andrew, Ava, Albie, Rylea, Morgan; brothers, Mick and Zada McCunney, Rich McCunney, Steve and Kim McCunney; sister, Doris Chapman and many other close family members and friends.
In celebration of Mary’s life a family service is being planned for a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to the Granite City A.P.A. Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City is serving the family.
