Ethel A. “Dolly” Bauer, 104 of Collinsville, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Granite Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Granite City.
Dolly was born on December 11, 1915 in Collinsville, IL; the daughter of the late Charles J. and Ethel (Montgomery) Mersinger. Dolly worked for Armour Packing House in the production of hams. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Collinsville, Order of the Eastern Star #666, Ainad Bells and the Collinsville Legion Auxiliary #365. In her free time Dolly enjoyed her days spending time with her family and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Dolly is survived by and will be missed by her nephew and his wife; James R. and Barbara Mersinger of Granite City; great-nephew and his wife, Richard and Lisa Mersinger and their children, Reese and Max.
In addition to her parents, Dolly Was preceded in death by her husband; Merle Bauer, whom she married on June 6, 1937 and her brother, James C. Mersinger.
In celebration of Dolly’s life, services will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Reese Chapel on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow. Memorial donations are suggested to First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City is serving the family.
