Joseph Charles Michael Hosty, 78, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 8:42 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. He was born November 29, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Joseph Charles and Helen Victoria (Bennett) Hosty. He married Beverly Marie (Schuchman) Hosty on June 3, 1972 in St. Louis and she passed away on October 2, 2010. He retired from Skinner and Kennedy Printing Company in St. Louis after over 20 years of dedicated service as a printer operator. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City and enjoyed attending the Old Cathedral in downtown St. Louis. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. He is survived by a son, Troy (Joni) Hosty of Dupo; three daughters, Theresa (Michael Brice) Mull of Granite City, Traci (Joel) Pirtle of Granite City and Victoria (David) Christensen of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Devon, Justin, Jeremy, Brayden, Ryan and Madison; a great granddaughter, Camille Ann Grace; a niece, Donna Clifton; other extended family and friends. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Overbey. In celebration of his life, a private visitation and funeral service will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.
