Charles Thomas Tinsley, 91, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 6:49 a.m. Sun. May 17, 2020 at Fountain View Manor in Granite City.
He was born July 9, 1928 in Leachville, AR to the late John Thomas & Ona Tinsley.
On Dec. 2, 1950, he and Conception Serrano were married in Granite City. She preceded him in death Jan. 2, 2003.
Charles was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and worked at Laclede Steel, retiring as a steam operator after 40 years. He loved to fish and camp.
He is survived by a daughter: Deborah (Randy) Bettorf; a son: Jeffery (Kim) Tinsley, all of Granite City; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Antoinette Short; 3 brothers: Pat, J.D. and Roy; and a half-sister: Louise.
Services are private due to the current COVID-19 crowd restrictions.
