Carl E. ‘Gene’ Ebling, 92, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 4:00 p.m. Sat. May, 2020 at Eden Village in Glen Carbon, IL.
He was born May 16, 1927 in Hopkinsville, KY to the late Eris & Laura Anne (Sullivan) Ebling.
On Sept. 21, 1947, he and May Louise Ebling were married in Piggott, AR. She preceded him in death Feb. 4, 10214.
Gene had been a janitor for the Granite City School District. He was also a TV repairman for State Radio in Granite City.
He is survived by a step-daughter: Jean Wulf of Colorado Springs, CO; a son-in-law: Gary Swift Sr. of Granite City; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Diane Louise Swift; a son: Danny Eugene Ebling; and 3 brothers: Oland, Frank and Harvey Ebling.
