James Sr

James R. Haller Sr., 75, of Highland, IL, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Fri. Apr. 30, 2020 in Trenton, IL surrounded by his family while under hospice care.

He was born May 11, 1944 in Maryville, IL to the late Clyde & Deloris (Tremmel) Haller.

James and Bonnie S. Self were married Nov. 6, 1964 in Troy, IL.  She survives in Highland, IL.

James was a machinist for General Motors for 15 years and for A.O. Smith for over 20 years.  He was a hard worker and always put his family first.  He loved camping with his kids and grandchildren.  He was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and Trump supporter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 children: Sondra S. Deien, Kimberly S. Haller, Teresa S. (Jon) Wellen and James R. (April) Haller Jr.; grandchildren: Jessica S. Deien, Zachery V. Deien, Maddison S. Deien, Natasha S. (Brady) Karn, Michael S. (Caroline Jenkins) Murphy, Brenten G. Schneck, Breana S. (Joshua) Jackson, Baylee S. (Austin) Bush, Brittani S. Wellen, Sabrina S. Haller, Samantha S. Haller, Gage C. Pogue, Hunter J. Haller and Sophie S. Pogue; great-grandchildren: Masen Schneck, Kailee Schneck, Mya Karn, Hudson Karn, Jetthias Jackson, Aiden Bush, Dalilah Jenkins, Violet Jenkins and Lillian Jenkins; and 2 sisters: Judy Ramirez and Deloris ‘Toots’ Bratten.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Monty Haller Sr.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Bob & Geraldine Self; son-in-law: Bruce E. Deien; sister-in-law: Lorraine Self Russell; and grandma: Elvie Olinger Wylder..
