Harold Woker

Harold W. Woker, 93, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 3:25 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019, at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon.  He was born April 30, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Edward and Frieda (Breihan) Woker.  He married Gladys F. (Schneider) Woker on August 3, 1957, in Granite City and she passed away on January 9, 2005.  He had retired from Boeing Aircraft in St. Louis in 1991 after 40 years of dedicated service with McDonnell Douglas Aircraft.  The United States Army Air Corp veteran proudly served his country during World War II.  He was a faithful member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Granite City.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing and tending to his yard.  He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with family and friends.  He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Terri and Gregory Grohman of Columbia, Illinois and Susan Woker of Granite City; two grandchildren, Kaitlin Grohman, serving with the United States Air Force and John Grohman of Columbia, Illinois; other extended family and friends.  In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Cliff.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, November 22, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue at Concordia Lutheran Church, 2305 Grand Avenue in Granite City on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Brian Feicho officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.  Memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church and may be accepted at the funeral home.  www.irwinchapel.com
