Pauline Keel, 85, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 12:37 a.m. Thurs. June 27, 2019 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
She was born Nov. 7, 1933 in Chitina, AK to the late Frank & Walya (Billum) Hobson.
On Aug. 20, 1956, she and Charles Marvin Keel were married in Anchorage, AK. He preceded her in death July 9, 2002.
Pauline was a homemaker and artist, painting in oils as well as other mediums. She was a former active member of Grace Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son: Edward (Rebecca) Keel of Granite City; a daughter: Karen (James) Higgins of Barnhart, MO; 6 grandchildren: Richard (Bonnie) Nelson, Marie Keel-Evans, Holly Keel Gordnier, James Nelson, Tawnee (Matt) Chandler and Jade Keel; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Gary Keel; 3 brothers: Richard, George and Victor Hobson; and 2 sisters: Mabel Hash and Mary Levshikoff.
The family will hold a private burial service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
