Queenie Elieff, age 100, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Integrity Healtcare in Alton. She was born November 26, 1918 in Granite City, a daughter of the late George and Aspacia (Tsaloff) Eftimoff. She married Ernest P. Elieff on July 15, 1956 at Holy Trinity Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Church in Madison and he passed away on August 6, 2001. She was a beautician for many years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Church where she was active in the choir and was a member of the Macedonian Ladie’s Aid Society. She had also worked with the U.S.O. and enjoyed her days of dancing and being with her family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Anastasia Elieff of Granite City; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Verka Gitcho and a brother, Danny Eftimoff.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where a funeral service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
