Edward Ozanich, 102 of Granite City passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, April 19, 2019 at his granddaughter’s home. Edward was born on October 6, 1916 in Madison, IL; the son of the late Anton and Anna (Majnarich) Ozanich.
Edward spent most of his career working for Common Wealth and Emmerson as a time study analyst and was a manufacturing engineer for Allied Health Care Systems in St. Louis. He was a dedicated member of Hope Lutheran Church in Granite City and will be remembered for the love of his family and all the special times they shared together.
Edward is survived by and will be missed by his son; Rodney (Teresa) Ozanich of Summerville, SC; daughter, Barbara Hammond of Davisville, MO; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his wife; Ellen (McKinney) Ozanich whom he married on November 20, 1938; son, Wayne “Guffy” Ozanich; brothers, Anthony, Mathew, Joseph; sisters, Bert, Regin.
In celebration of Edward’s life, visitation will be on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Alan Beuster officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryvillle Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to the Granite City A.P.A.
