James Edward Pope, 67, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 8:49 a.m. Fri. Jan. 25, 2019 at Gateway Regional Medical Center ER in Granite City.
He was born Feb. 14, 1951 in Jonesboro, AR.
He and Sharon A. Martin were married Apr. 10, 1992 in Granite City. She survives in Granite City.
James had been a steel mill worker and for the last 11 years was a groundskeeper at Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Tina.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Pope Jr. and a brother.
