“Ginny” Virginia Leeann Chatman, 88, of Collinsville, IL, passed away at 12:22 p.m. Mon. Sept. 24, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
She was born Mar. 7, 1930 in Edwardsville, IL to the late Otto & Mildred (Buffy) Albrecht.
Ginny retired from K-Mart as a district bookkeeper after 20 years of service. She attended St. John’s in Collinsville. She loved animals and was an avid supporter and volunteer at the American Legion #365. Her greatest joy was a being a loving and supportive grandmother to her two granddaughters: Jonelle Renee (Blake) Simpson of O?Fallon, IL and Samantha (Maulik Trevedi) of Manhattan, NY. She is also survived by her son-in-law: John Skubish of Collinsville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Dawn Skubish and a son, Craig Steven Chatman.
The family will hold a celebration of her life at a memorial gathering of family and friends at the Collinsville American Legion #365, 1022 Vandalia St., Collinsville, IL 62234 on Fri. Sept. 28, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
