Jeffrey Alan Sabol, 45, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 2:22 am on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, after a long illness. He was born September 25, 1970 in Granite City, Illinois, a son of Linda Lee (Rash) Sabol and the late Leonard Andrew Sabol. He married Lani (Tucker) Sabol on December 26th, 1998 in St. Louis, Missouri, and they have two amazing children – a son, Jackson Tucker Sabol (10), and a daughter, Lexington Len Sabol (6). Jeff was a graduate of Granite City High School and studied music at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville. He was a talented and dedicated musician throughout his life. Jeff started performing professionally in high school. He was the lead singer and guitar player for the band SABLE for many years. He not only performed music, but he wrote, recorded, produced, and engineered music for many years as well. Jeff was a member of the Country music Association (CMA), The Academy of Country music, (ACM), and he supported Operation Troop Aid. Jeff has not only traveled and performed across the United States, but he has performed across the world in Europe and the Middle East. He performed more than 200 shows a year in the Metro East area alone. He enjoyed his days of traveling and performing, but most of all, he cherished spending time with his children, family, and friends. In addition to his mother, wife, and children, Jeff is survived by a brother, Christopher Paul Sabol of Granite City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura Ann and Travis Revelle of St. Louis and Lisa Marie and Travis Catron of Granite City; brother-in-laws Kelvin Boyd Tucker (Beatrice) and Anthony Boyd Tucker; mother-in-law Gwendolyn LynetteTucker, maternal grandmother, Erma Lee Rash of Granite City; loving friend, Valerie Winchester of Granite City; many aunts; uncles; cousins; other extended family and many friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Andrew and Mary Sabol, grandfather Travis L. Rash, father-in-law Calvin Boyd Tucker, great grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
A prayer service will be held at Irwin Chapel on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City onFriday, October 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Chris Comerford as celebrant. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials may be made in the form of a donation to a college trust fund for his children or to Operation Troop Aid in honor of Jeff Sabol, and may be accepted at the funeral home. www.irwinchapel.com
