Joel Arthur Werths, 66, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at LaBella of Alton on Monday, July 29, 2024. He was born June 25, 1958, in Granite City, Illinois, a son of the late Lloyd Wilmer and Hazel Loretta (Cottrell) Werths. Joel served over 30 years of loving care and service as a paramedic with Christian Northeast Hospital. He was a creative artist, loved drawing cartoons and enjoyed listening to music. He is survived by a son, Nicholas Werths of St. Louis; four siblings and their spouses, Brad and Pat Werths of Edwardsville, Kenneth and Melinda Werths of Richland, Missouri, Christina and Richard Hodshire of Havre, Montana and John and Terri Werths of Edwardsville; nieces and nephews, Laura, LeeAnn, Christin, Amanda, Carlie, Maddie, Sheri, Heather, Aaron, Cal and Parker; many great nieces; great nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jacob Werths. A private family service will be held at a later date.
