Morgan Whitford

Morgan Marie Whitford, 29, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 11:49 p.m. p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024, along with her beloved husband. She was born December 28, 1994, in Wood River, Illinois, a daughter of Ronald Dale and Ellen Mae (Flowers) Hillis. She married Cole Dalton Whitford at The Abbey in Columbia, Illinois on October 17, 2020. She worked in the emergency department at Anderson Hospital in Maryville with two years of service and care for others. She enjoyed the season of Halloween and cherished her dogs, Dozer, Cleo, Nova and Harley. Morgan was a proud and loving mom and loved being with family and friends. She will be remembered for her witty, honest, blunt, loving, giving, caring, strong and genuine personality. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her two little girls, Remington and Emersyn Whitford; sister and brother-in-law, Deidra and Randy Hill of Granite City; brothers and sister-in-law, Jacob and Amber Hillis of St. Ann, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Keigan, Maverick, Adelynne, Abel, Owen, Emmette and Maxx; grandparents, Diana Flowers of Granite City, Emily Flowers of St. Charles, Missouri; mother-in-law, Vicki Whitford of Granite City; father-in-law, Chad D. Whitford Sr. of Granite City; sister-in-law, Jessy Boyle of Jerseyville; brother-in-law, Chad Drake Jr. of Granite City; aunt, Sharon Koch of Pocahontas; cousins, Kaitlyn Koch and Ryan Koch; extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by grandparents, David L. Flowers Sr., Danny W. Hillis and Darlene M. Hillis.

In celebration of their lives, visitation will be at City Temple, 4751 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, with Pastor Sam Hart officiating. She will be laid to rest along with her husband at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. In lieu of floral tributes, memorials may be made to the Remington & Emerson Whitford Benefit Fund and may be accepted at the services or at any FCB Bank location.
