Nicholas Palovcsik

Nicholas Palovcsik, Retired CMSGT, 90, of Belleville, IL, born December 19, 1933, in Pittsburgh, PA, died Friday, September 13, 2024, at his residence.

Nicholas was a Vietnam War U.S. Air Force veteran, who retired after serving his country for 30 years. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 14 years. Nick was a 50 year member of the Swansea Moose Lodge. He was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan, and he loved being outside in his yard, working in his garden and tending to his lawn. Nick always looked forward to and enjoyed his Saturday mornings with “The Breakfast Buds.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jonas and Susan, nee Smiko, Palovcsik; and two brothers, Walter and Charles Steininger.

Surviving are his loving wife of 68 years, Marilyn Palovcsik, nee Menham, whom he married December 17, 1955;

three children, Constance (Bill) Collins,

Nicholas (Dana) Palovcsik, and Robert (Kim) Palovcsik;

seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Kelly (Nik), Billy, Michelle (Jake),

Jenny (Lance), Michael (Amanda), and Brandon;

eight great-grandchildren, Kailyn, Isaiah, Kinley, Braylynn, Ty,

Lucas, Charlotte, and Eloise;

and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Memorial services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Darwin Schrader officiating.

According to Nicholas’s wishes, cremation was held.
