Marjorie Badgley (née King) of Calabasas, California, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024, with her loved ones by her side. Born on August 5, 1934 in E. St. Louis, Illinois, she was the daughter of Margaret and Paul King and sister to Thomas T. King.
Marjorie married Paul George Badgley in 1953, supporting him through college as they built a life together. They were blessed with twins, Mark and Marcia, in 1961. Paul’s job with May Co. took them to Lake Oswego, Oregon, where Marjorie and Paul raised their children and enjoyed a very wonderful family life. Subsequently, Paul was transferred to Cleveland for his job and the couple made Shaker Heights, Ohio their home until Paul’s untimely death in 1987.
In search of new beginnings, Marjorie moved to Palm Desert, California, where she lived for 30 years, surrounded by friends and family. She enjoyed golf, reading, and crossword puzzles, before ultimately settling in Calabasas, where she could spend her golden years close to her small family.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Mark Badgley; her daughter, O’Hara (Marcia) Fottrell; and her beloved grandchildren, Honour and Morgan Fottrell. She was laid to rest beside her husband, Paul, in a private ceremony at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Belleville, IL, on September 13, 2024.
