Clarence Leroy Gibson, 79, of Granite City, IL passed away Friday, September 27, 2024 at Stearns Nursing Home in Granite City, IL.
He was born to the late Clarence E. Gibson, Sr and Dorothy (Bourlend) Gibson on January 4, 1945 in Yuma, AZ. He met Laura Lee and they were married on January 27, 1967 in Madison, IL. Clarence lived by the motto “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. He loved to pick up furniture from road sides and sales to refurbish it; he kept everybody stocked on anything they would need for their home. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors and with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Laura Gibson; 2 sons: Gary Gibson, Randy (Cheyenne) Gibson; a granddaughter: Chelsey Gibson; great grandson: Taten Gibson; and a brother: Richard (Brenda) Gibson;
Besides his parents, Clarence is preceded in death by 3 brothers: Jerry Gibson, Kenny Gibson, Clarence E. Gibson, Jr; and 2 sisters: Shirley Causey and Faye Flaugher.
A memorial visitation will be held at Wojstrom Funeral Home on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 2pm until 4 pm.
