Gregory Terry Argent, 74, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 5:06 p.m. Wed. Oct. 30, 2024 at Evelyn’s Hospice House in Creve Couer, MO surrounded by his family.
He was born July 29, 1950 in Granite City to the late Vanetta (Ziegler) Leimkuehler and Anderson Argent.
On Aug. 30, 1969, he and Vickie C. Krieshok were married in East St. Louis, IL. She survives.
Greg was self-employed in lawn and tree care and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He loved spending time with family and found peace in feeding the neighborhood squirrels and stray cats.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by a daughter: Brandi (Jack) Young; son: Gregg (Darla Portell) Argent; seven grandchildren: Shane Argent, Ella Davis, Kristen (Anthony) Byrne Stoicheff, Adrianna Byrne, Lilly Byrne, Nathan Byrne and Jesse Young; a great-grandson: Beckett Gregory Stoicheff; three sisters: Diane Moore, Margaret Rollberg and Debbie Ogle; a step-sister: Catherine Dahmer; and many grand dogs and grand cats.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father who was influential in his life: Otto Leimkuehler; and his twin brother who died in Jan. 2017: Craig Argent.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of services at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Brian Feicho officiating.
