Everett L. Bohnenstiehl, age 82 of Saint Jacob, IL, died Sunday, September 22, 2024, at HSHS Saint Elizabeth Hospital in O Fallon, IL.

He was born on Tuesday, June 23, 1942, in Highland, IL, the son of Everett and Vivette (nee DeForest) Bohnenstiehl.

On Saturday, November 22, 1997, he married Pamela Louise Bohnenstiehl, nee Kilhafner, who survives.

He was a member of St. Jacob United Church of Christ; Lebanon Lodge #110 Masonic Temple, Lebanon, IL (27 years member); Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of S. IL, Belleville, IL; Ainad Temple (Shriners), E. St. Louis, IL; Royal Order of Jesters #86 S. IL Court.

Everett was a builder in the Troy area, worked at Granite City Steel for 43 years and owned the Troy Grain Elevator, Troy, IL. He was married to his beloved wife Pamela at home on November 22, 1997, by the Illinois Supreme Court Justice Philip J. Rarick.
Everett was a man of many talents. His grandparents bought him a bicycle when he took state playing the tenor saxophone. He was known throughout school on the dance floor. He owned the jitterbug and won many competitions. He even danced on St. Louis Hop. For years, if there was a wedding to be had, he was called to dance with them and always added those weddings to his dance card. He was a handyman by trade. He would build houses without blueprints and never had a complaint with his handy work. He bought and owned Troy Grain Elevator in 1988 and ran it for 35 years. He loved his customers as if they were his family. But his real passion and love was taking care of God’s land and his animals. He was a born farmer.
