Ann Carolyn Donahey, 79, of Maryville, Illinois, and formerly of Winter Haven, Florida passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born October 16, 1942, in Winter Haven, Florida, a daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Lyle) Smith.
She married Dayl W. Donahey on August 19, 1966, in Orlando, Florida and he survives.
Ann was a loving and faithful homemaker and a member of the Edwardsville Moose Lodge. She was a yard sale enthusiast and enjoyed her days of visiting many yard sales, flea markets, and antique shops. She was of Native American descent and was a collector of Indian artifacts, was artistic in making jewelry, and enjoyed artwork. Ann was always wanting to help others, very giving to numerous charities and organizations, and always generous with tipping to all in the service industry. She cherished her family and will always be remembered for the love and special times shared with family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband of over 55 years, she is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Lauren Bauer) Donahey of Granite City; daughter, Stacey (Brian) Stark of Collinsville; five grandchildren, Ethan, Cassidy, Jorvice, Isabella, and Benson; a great-grandson, Emmett; sister, Donna Ryan of Orlando, Florida; sister-in-law, Jerry Smith of Winter Haven, Florida; niece, Shana Smith; nephews; Daryl and Darren Futch; great-niece, Shayla Enamardo; other extended family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Smith.
In celebration of her life, a memorial gathering will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Sharon Autenrieth officiating.
