Larnie Dwight Sidener, 84 of Maryville, IL passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at St. Gabriel Memory Care in Highland, IL.
Larnie was born on July 7, 1937, in St. Elmo, IL; the son of the late Dwight and Juanita (Frakes) Sidener. Larnie was a stationary engineer for the U.S. Government and after his retirement, he became the head of maintenance and security at Eden Village in Glen Carbon. Larnie was a charter member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville where he served as a deacon. In his free time, Larnie enjoyed his days of spending time with his family and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Larnie is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Sandra “Sandy” (Huff) Sidener, whom he married on September 14, 1963; daughters, Tammy Eickelman of Collinsville, IL, Tina and Allen Rees of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Jessi Eickelman, Anthony “Tony” Eickelman, Nathan Rees, Zachary Rees; brothers, Richard Joe Sidener, Theodore Max Sidener and many other close family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Larnie was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra “Kay” Kinter.
In celebration of Larnie’s life, visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger Wright officiating at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. Burial will follow at Sidener Cemetery in St. Elmo, IL.
