George L. “Pat” Santen, age 90, of Maryville, IL, born June 29, 1931 in Caseyville, IL, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at his residence.
Pat served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954. He was employed as sales manager by Columbia Quarry until his retirement in 1991. He enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, fishing and especially spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Vera (nee Dalton) Santen; his brother, Russ Santen; and a sister, Fran Santen Hadfield.
He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Edie (nee Paskero) Santen, whom he married on November 18, 1950; two sons: Guy (Mary) Santen and Jeb (Amy) Santen; a daughter, Kim Sova; 5 grandchildren: Broc (Joy) Sova, Drew (Chrissie) Santen, Haley Santen, Eric Shockley, and Kasey (Drew Woellner) Long; 4 great-grandchildren: Gideon & Ellie Sova, Easton & Kennedy Woellner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
It was his wishes to be cremated; private services were held.
