Jeanette M. “Jean” Shane, 78, of Pontoon Beach, Illinois passed away at 3:29 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2020 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, Illinois. She was born May 22, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of the late Dominick Joseph and Eleanor (Ford) Gagliardi. She married Jerry L. Shane on September 1, 1962 in Monterey, California and he survives. Jean was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City and a proud fighter and survivor of breast cancer. She love watching her favorite television shows, Dancing with the Stars, The Voice, American Idol and Lifetime movie and her soap operas.
She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Donny Courtney of Granite City; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry L. and Lisa Shane Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana; four grandchildren, Drew, Jake, Cierra and Austin; a great granddaughter, Kennedy; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Joseph and Shannon Gagliardi of Waterloo, Illinois, Dominick and Cindy Gagliardi of St. Charles, Missouri and Tony Gagliardi of St. Charles, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Smith of Missouri and David Coco of Missouri; a sister-in-law, Patricia “Pat” Sannes of Granite City; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters; a twin infant sister, Janice Gagliardi and Deanna Coco and Theresa Smith.
Jean deserves a beautiful tribute. However, during these uncertain days, a celebration of life will be held at a later date when we can all come together.
