Michael Stein

Michael David Stein, 44, of Highland, IL passed away suddenly on November 22, 2024.

Born December 5th, 1979, in Highland, IL; one of the last to be born at St. Joseph’s Hospital, a fact he took great pride in. Michael attended Highland High School, class of 1998. He went on to obtain his Associate’s degree from SWIC. Michael has been working as a customer service clerk at Circle K of Highland for over four years.

Michael was an avid music lover. On his 45th birthday this year, he would have hit his 30th year of playing guitar, an accomplishment for sure. Another great accomplishment of Michael’s was his music degree; Associate in Applied Science Music Technology; earned December 2016. His world revolved around his love for music, his family and his friends. His favorite bands/musicians included: Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Skinny Puppy, Alice In Chains, Bush, and Jerry Cantrell.

Michael was a friend to all those he encountered.

Michael is survived by his parents Rachelle and Daniel Sauls of Highland; his brother Andy Sauls and beloved niece Dakota of Highland, IL; his sister Kirsten (Blaine) Sauls and K-9 nephew Stetson of Staunton, IL: grandmother Jo Etta Miller of Highland, IL; grandmother Judy Sauls of Sorento, IL; uncle Rodney (Janet) Miller of Highland, IL; uncle Russell (Heather Kramer) Miller of Haslet, TX; aunt Sherri Sauls of Highland, IL; uncle Terry (Theresa) Stein of Shiloh, IL; uncle Randy (Sara) Stein of Highland, IL; and many beloved cousins.

Preceding him in death was his father David Stein; grandparents: Leroy and Mary Stein; grandfather Donen Miller and grandfather Jack Sauls, aunt Michelle Miller.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for final expenses.
