Nancy Jean Geiger, nee Whittier, 65, of Caseyville, IL, born September 19, 1959, in Augusta, ME, died Sunday, November 17, 2024, at her residence.
Nancy spent most of her time dedicated to raising her children and grandchildren. She held a special place in her heart for the elderly, her pets, and her friends. Many close friends were made while she was a cashier at Apocalypse in downtown Belleville, National and Schnucks.
She loved arts and crafts, attending her favorite concerts, listening to KSHE radio, and showing off her green thumb. Although there were many hardships later in life, she persevered maintaining a positive attitude and a smile. Most recently, she attended Christ United Church of Christ and loved listening to Joy FM. Nancy’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ashley Geiger; her father, Keith Whittier; two brothers, Gregory (Suzanne) Whittier and Keith Dean Whittier; a sister, Vicki Lynn Keller; and the father of her children, Thomas Geiger.
She is survived by her spouse, Jim Laux; two daughters, Alisha Peppler and Sara Geiger; five grandchildren, Bryant (Abbie) Peppler, Nick Peppler, Maleah McKissick, Zane Brock, and Anton McKissick; a great-grandchild, Sutton Peppler; a sister, Sheila (Marc) Satterfield; a brother, Michael Whittier; a brother-in-law, John Keller; and many cousins and nieces.
