David Yarber

David T. Yarber, 64, of Belleville, IL, born September 29, 1960, in Belleville, IL, died Friday, November 29, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO with his loving wife beside him.

It is with great sadness and broken hearts to have to share the news that David has lost his courageous battle with cancer.

David leaves a void in multiple roles: husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Whatever role he took on, it was always a 100% commitment from him to be the best he could be. His favorite role was being dad to his two beautiful daughters. Throughout their lives, he instilled the importance of hard work and dedication. They were his world and was so proud of all their successes.

At the time of his death, he was employed as a laborer for the Village of Swansea, Street Department, a job he truly enjoyed and loved. When asked “What are your hobbies?” He quickly responded, “Working” – an honest and true answer. When he was not working, he and Suzie spent time going to dances, attending fish fries, hanging at local parish picnics, enjoying Belleville’s Chili Cookoff, and watching Hallmark movies.

David was a member of St. Teresa’s Church, Belleville, IL, and Moose Lodge # 815 – Mascoutah, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Alice, nee Nicoson, Yarber; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clem and Audrey Mudd; and a brother-in-law, Stanley Jung.

Surviving are his wife and best friend of 40 years, Suzanne, nee Mudd, Yarber, whom he married October 6, 1984; two daughters, Jessica Yarber (A.J. Gass) and Emily Yarber; eight siblings, Mary Jung, Donnie Yarber, Phillip Yarber (special friend, Sheryl Washburn), Frank (Cathy) Yarber, Michael (Diana) Yarber, Kathy (Tom) LaForest, John Yarber, and Troy (Sherri) Yarber; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Tammy) Mudd and Sarah (Jeff) Young; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Village of Swansea – Street Department and Administration; Dr. James Althoff and staff; BJC/Washington University Doctors and Nursing staff, and the comforting care from Mrs. Mandy Piela-Gass, NP.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
